For years, as both an engaged runner and a dedicated observer of elite athletics, I faced a persistent and frustrating problem: the lack of reliable, granular, minute-by-minute tracking of the elite marathon field. Whether on site without broadcast access, traveling, or limited by costly subscriptions, following the crucial early race moments has been needlessly difficult.

The narrow six-second margin over Evans Chebet (2:07:45) confirms that the race was decided purely in the final, agonizing kilometer in Central Park. Nageeye’s ability to find that final acceleration, or "kick," after navigating the bridges and hills, shows superior management of his anaerobic reserve. On a challenging course where times are generally slower, the tight finish highlights that the pacing strategy was conservative early, leading to a maximal effort finish.
